Matt Bartlett was born and raised in Reno, Nevada and graduated from Reno High School in June of 1999. Bart, as he was known to his friends, enjoyed many things in life but not least tennis, good tunes and far off adventures.
This scholarship program was established with the generosity and support of friends and acquaintances of Matt Bartlett who died
unexpectedly on March 29, 2000 during tennis team practice at Carleton College in Minnesota.
Recipients of the scholarship will be selected by a committee of men and women who were close friends and family of Bart. They are looking for scholarship applicants who are well-rounded people, who have demonstrated the ability to work hard, appreciate life, and whose approach to life honors Matt’s spirit.
Up to two scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2500 will be awarded in May 2015 for the academic year beginning in the fall of 2015. |
